Bring on the Warm Weather!

Hoping a bright spring-like card will rush the warmer temps........wishful thinking I know. At least the sun is shining and the inversion is gone for a bit. :>)
Today's card is again a simple one, that what I do best I think. I really enjoy the look of the diagonally cut layering.

Fishin' For Valentines

Life has been BUSY lately! I have had this card done for several days, but haven't been able to get it uploaded. It is my last g-kid valentine. I do have some other cards to make, but at least I have all the grandkids done now! This card was fun, I have had this little fisherman from Stamp Affair for alot of years. I think he looks pretty cute with a heart hanging from his pole!

For the card base I used the 120 lb stock from Gina K. I think it is the best for the base of a card these days. Striped paper is from DCWV. The image is layered with Pumpkin Pie and Ruby Red from Stampin' Up! Sentiment is from Just So Hippy set. I used Tuxedo Black ink from Memento to stamp the image, before coloring is with my Kohn-i-noor pencils and Mineral Spirits. A small heart punched out of bright red glitter paper finishes off the card.
Thanks for looking today! Have an awesome weekend........for Monday cometh! God Bless!

Hedgehog Valentine

I was surprised and honored to find that Maria had given me this blog award a few days ago. Be sure and visit her site, she does very nice work and you will surely be blessed by visiting her .
I will need to pass this along, so I will be thinking about it for a few days, there are so many awesome ladies out there that I am inspired by.......
On to today's card, it is another g-kid valentine. I think it turned out pretty cute! The stamped image is from Stampin' Up! from several years ago.......but still cute. The patterned paper is from DVWC and the light pink cardstock was run thru my Cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls Embossing folder. The image is matted on More Mustard cardstock, it is colored with kohn-i-noor pencils. Brads are from JoAnn's.

Kathy-This One's For You!

I was asked to post some of the pics that we took when our son came home. It was such a wonderful day! We all gathered in a hangar to wait for our men to come home, there were 300 or so airmen coming, so there were alot of folks waiting for them. They had set up an area with punch and cookies and videos for the kiddos while we were waiting. The elementary school kids from the base came and sang songs to welcome them also. After we were there about 20minutes we heard 2 jets fly over head and our daughter-in-law got a BIG smile on her face and said " Thats the sound I came here for". These were the jets that were escorting the plane carrying our guys, THEY WERE REALLY COMING HOME!!!! At this point the huge doors of the hangar were opened and we could see the jets. It would still be about 15 minutes before the buses carrying the guys got to us.......
When the buses rolled in, the crowd was SOOO anxious! Our DIL was bouncing with anticipation. When Jim caught off the bus, she screamed "JIMMY" and went running out of the crowd and toward him. This was particularly fun to watch because she is generally a pretty shy girl :>)

The look on her face is ABSOLUTE relief!

Jim with his 2 1/2 year old daughter.

Unloading baggage. Jim brought 2 of his bags over and said "One more..." I asked him if he knew where it was, there were a LOT of bags! Jim replied with a grin " Nope, but I know its green."
We are so glad to have Jim home and safe.

Happy Monday!

Good Monday morning! Another week to look forward to. Our son FINALLY arrived home. He came in on Thursday afternoon. Another delay for us because of the fog and inversion that has blanketed our valley for days! What a wonderful homecoming it was! It is so good to have him back and safe. We will now go forward with our holidays........on Superbowl Sunday! We had decided as a family to save our gift-giving until he got back home because he and his wife were having such a hard time being apart over the holidays! It will be fun! On to today's submission.....the layout is from the OCC a week or so ago.

Supplies: Cardbase-from my stash, DP is from DCWV (large center piece) and Stampin' Up!-(small scalloped edged piece) Brown and pink layers are SU. Stamps-SU and brads are from JoAnn's.

Well, I am starting on Valentines cards for my grandkids. I have eight grandkids, 3 girls and 5 boys! So I will be a bit busy. (Can you imagine how much fun my backyard will be a Sunday afternoons in about 10 years?.....all those grinning boys teasing the girls! Can't wait!)
So today, I have two cards to show you, one for a girl and one for a boy.

Supplies: GinaK 120lb White Cardstock (awesome stuff!) for the cardbase. All other is Stampin' Up!-bits and pieces from my scrap box. The wonderful red glitter paper was a gift from my sis Terri (she is SO giving, don't ya wish she was your sis?) Heart stamp is SU from way back and Cupcake is Hero Arts. DP is from DCWV stack. Small circle scalloped nestie and Cuttlebug, Scalloped Edger were also used. Little Truck card includes Corner diecut, Heart Punch, I Love You stamp is Inkadinkado.

This is one of my boy cards....isn't the little dump truck cute filled with hearts! It is so much fun to use my older stamp sets with all the new accessories and embellishments! They just bring them back to life!

Happy Birthday Gregan!

Happy Monday! It is indeed a snowy one here in Idaho today. It is supposed to snow for a couple of days, then warm up and melt again.......WINTER, gotta love it!.
Today my card is one I made for my brother-in-law, Greg. In my title I call him Gregan......a fun story that includes that very literal grand daughter I told you about recently. We were all together for a birthday party and Jo asked my sis where "Gregan" was. Well we were a bit confused at first and then realized that she always heard the phrase "Greg and Terri", so in her little mind, he became Gregan. Well, the name stuck!
Supplies: Cardbase is from my stash, don't know who to give credit to. Brown layer is from that same stash! DP is Stampin' Up-Ski Slope. Stamps are Inkadinkado, Brown grosgrain ribbon-Offray. Ink-Close To Cocoa, Mellow Moss-Stampin' Up!

Thanks for stopping by today! God Bless!

SIMPLIFY

I'm hoping for things to slow down some, and they have....sort of. I was able to sit and do some work on my blog today, to make some changes AGAIN. Hopefully, I can look at this background for a while, seems like I was beginning to look a bit cluttered. I want my cards and pics to take center stage. The girls at Cutest Blog on the Block do a great job. Check them out!

I have really enjoyed working on this blog thing and have learned SO much. There are so many wonderful people out there in the blogosphere. There is so much inspiration to bring a smile each day. I'm hoping to keep up better in the new year! (big wish). I need to be more organized and spend more time reading. These are not resolutions mind you, just good thoughts! Then I save myself the trouble of beating my self up later if I don't keep up!!! heehee!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I hope I have given you a few smiles and inspiration along the way. God Bless!
